You should/shouldn't read THE AUSTRALIAN CONNECTION because...

I think you should read the australian connection, because it trains your english and it's important to read books and the history in this book is not that bad.

The 9th &10th Chapter

Write a mini saga about capter 9 & 10.

In chapter 9 of the book, there are many things, wich change everything. After the last gig of the band crew, in the old cinema, the desicion was made. The band had brocken up.

Now Alex have to make an important decision, if he should stay in Australia or go back to England and begin to study.

At least he make a real good decision, he ask Dani to come with him to England. And at the end of the book Alex and Dani celebrate new years eve in England !!!

The 8th Chapter

Read chapter 8.
Which situation was most exciting or interesting?
Give your opinion in about 3-5 sentences (ONLY).
Then invite your blog team members (BTM) to give their opinion.

I think it was really exciting, that they become so famous and have a lot of success.
But as far as I'm concerned Alex' thoughts are over the top. He really expected to live like a superstar.

I want to apologize to my blog team members that I first had make my post now.
My post is not the best because I haven't got the book anymore ...

The 7th Chapter

After reading chapter 7:
1. Comment on the following quote: "And, of course, Alex understood only too well." (p.43, l.33)

2. Write a different ending of the chapter: "That night, when Alex had gone to sleep, TOM picked up his diary and began writing." (compare p.43, l.34f)
1. In my opinion the auther wanted to tell, that Alex now, after this discussion, can understand why his father left him and his mom. And that Alex have sometimes the same decision to make, not so important like Tom , but about the same thing.

2. Dear Diary,

Alex and me we had a real father and son time in the last days. We had a lot of fun and "adventures". But the most important thing is, that we finally talked about the things, wich we always wanted to talk about. His feelings were really mixed, he was sad and angry, he asked me the questions, which he always wanted to ask. Later, when I told him why I left him and his mom, it was like he understood my decision. Now everythin is clear

The 6th chapter

Obligatory
1. Before you read the 6th chapter: Predict what Alex tells Tom when he meets him for the first time after 16 years?
2. After you read the 6th chapter: What did Alex say? Where you right? Give evidence from the text. (quote!)
Optional
1.Write an own stanza (Strophe) for “Jumpy” or “Earthquake”.

Obligatory
1. In my opinion Alex will, at the beginning, talk really normal, although he will be very nervous, about things he did since he been in Australia. Later it could be more serious.

2. First Alex talk like I regarded. Tom make jokes to make Alex feel better ("Tom was obviously trying hard to make his son feel comfortable,..." P.31 l.18-19) but later Alex couldn't hold it out and beginn to ask loudly, why Tom did like Alex never exist.
Later he recognize that it was too much, so they begin to talk seriously about it.
And Tom invites Alex to drive with him to Queensland.

Optional

1. Earthquake

You move me like an earthquake
earthquake, earthquake
You make me wonder
everytime I'm with you
you move me like an earthquake
erthquake, earthquake

The 5th Chapter

1. What is the first problem of the band when they left to arrive at Sydney ? What is your opinion about the behavior from terry and the other ?

2. How did you feel when you read the part when they hit the cow ?

3. Is it ok to let always Terry go alone to bringe help ? What would you think about it when your friends would always let you make everything ?

4. How was the first reaction of Alex when he saw his father ? How would you react ?

The 4th Chapter

Dani and Alex have their first disagreement. Why? What is it about? What is your opinion about it?

Their first disagreement is about penguins wich are watched of many tourists. Dani think that their cute and like to be in the spotlight. Alex' opinion is for me the right, he thinks that they look lost and afraid by being under the lights and cameraflashes. It isn't their natural environment.

The 3rd Chapter

1. Describe what happens on top of St. Mary's Peak.
2. Why does Alex think "Let him see how he likes it"? Who is he? What will he like or not?

1.In this chapter Alex is by the brother of Mary, which have a son named Kavin in the age of Alex. With him he make a trip to Kangaroo Island and have a lot of fun there.
They also visit and climb St. Mary's Peak, a big mountain in the south of Australia. When they arrive at the top Alex and Kevin begin to talk about Tom.When Kavin said that he and Tom already were here before and talked about things like family and that Tom don't wanted to settle down Alex became sad and crie almost. He was disappointed that he was just something like a mistake for Tom.

2.Alex thought about the things wich were happend on the mountain and how Tom would like it when Alex is already in London when he arrive in oz.

The 2nd Chapter

Alex' first 66 hours in Australia were great, I think.

The "new" family of Tom is really friendly (especially Mary), because everybody of them was like Alex was always a part of them.
I think Alex' gonna have a lot of fun with Dani too, not just because of her beauty. ;-)

The behavior of Tom was really ignorant, Alex hadn't seen his father since 16 years.
I could understand that Alex was disappointed.
I hope he'll see his father as soon as it's possible.

The idea of writing a diary is very good so Alex never forget the time in Australia.

The 1st Chapter

My opinion of the 1st chapter is that the mother of Alex had made a really good deal with Alex.
In this way Alex always had a firm goal, for what he could work for. It's also a really really good price for passing the exams.
The book is understandable and a big help is also the dictonary.
The script is also clear, which it makes easier to read.
